Maternity Group Home Specialist (Full-Time) and (Part-Time)

Primary Functions
Reporting directly to the Maternity Group Home (MGH) Coordinator and/or Senior Supervisor, the MGH Specialist is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of residential facilities in accordance with YES program policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities
The MGH Specialist is responsible to:

  • Provide a safe, learning environment for residents.
  • Promote the agency in a positive manner to fellow staff and the community.
  • Encourage teamwork through modeling and cooperative interaction with colleagues, volunteers, community partners and community members.
  • Leads by example when working with individuals receiving services and co-workers.
  • Maintain communication with team to ensure quality services to residents.
  • Assist residents in achieving goals towards independence.
  • Maintain confidential information concerning the agency, clients and program organizational plans, policies and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation.
  • Maintain security of the facility.
  • Supervise individuals in maintenance and upkeep of facility.
  • Enforce house rules.
  • Monitor residents' interactions and provide conflict resolution assistance while promoting empowerment.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions as negotiated with Coordinator to accommodate work schedule.
  • Facilitate life skills and psycho-educational group sessions.
  • Follow all policies and procedures relative to this position.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by Coordinator.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science or related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • Bilingual/English is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Driving is a requirement for this position.
  • Must have a good driving record. Driver's license, personal auto insurance with required personal liability minimums as mandated by insurance carrier.
  • Completion of thorough criminal history and background investigation.
