National Safe Place Week March 15-21!
2/24/2009
The YES Youth Street Outreach program is an affiliate of the National Safe Place initiative. Safe Place is a program that recruits local businesses to serve as Safe Place sites.
National Safe Place Week is March 15-21. Last year alone, YES helped 76 youth escape a crisis situation in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area. These sites are identified by the Safe Place logo outside of the business.
YES would like to recognize these businesses, as well as promote the Safe Place program during the week of March 15.
YES will be participating in the St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 14 to kick off the week's activities. On March 16, YES will be passing out Safe Place cards and pens at select QT, Subway, Hy-Vee and Starbuck locations. YES will also host an appreciation event on March 18 at the Street Outreach Drop-In Center (2057 Harney) from 4-6 p.m.
To participate in any of these activities or learn more about the Safe Place program, please call Stacy at the YES office 345-5187.
