Maternity Home
The Maternity Home (MGH) is one of YES' newest programs. MGH provides services to runaway and homeless youth, ages 16 to 21
(must be 20 when entering the 18 month program), who are pregnant or parenting and may not otherwise be able to access services.
The program is designed to provide an environment in which youth are able to develop the ability to function independently in the community. MGH offers:
- Supervised housing
- Life skills training
- Mental health counseling
- Medical screening and referral
- Case management
- Pregnancy and parenting instruction
Participants can be in the program for up to 18 months. While in the program, participants:
- Perform a minimum of one community service project each month
- Attend a minimum of 20 hours of work and school each week (unless restricted medically)
- Pay for their room and board at the start of the third month in the program
The rent amount owed will be gradually increased monthly until 100% of the rent is paid by graduation from the program. Residents will receive 80% of this amount back upon leaving the program.
YES' Maternity Home is Omaha's only transitional living program that assists pregnant and parenting youth.
