Transitional Living Program
The Transitional Living Program (TLP) provides services to runaway and homeless youth, ages 16 to 21
(must be 20 when entering the 18 month program),
who may not otherwise be able to access services.
The program is designed to provide an environment in which youth will be able to develop the ability to function independently in the community. TLP offers:
- Supervised housing
- Life skills training
- Mental health counseling
- Medical screening and referral
- Case management.
Participants can be in the program for up to 18 months. While in the program, participants:
- Perform a minimum of one community service project each month
- Attend a minimum of 20 hours of work and school each week
- Pay for their room and board at the start of the second month in the program
The rent amount owed will be gradually increased monthly until 100% of the rent is paid by graduation from the program. Residents will receive 80% of this amount back upon leaving the program.
TLP expanded its capacity from 11 to 17 beds in October 2011.
