Mentoring
The majority of the youth YES serves lack positive adult support and guidance. Our mentoring program creates a special opportunity for our Transitional Living and Maternity Home youth to develop a positive, sustained relationship with a trustworthy and influential adult.
The foundation of mentoring is the idea that if caring, concerned adults are available to young people, youth will be more likely to become successful adults themselves.
Our mentors and youth are carefully matched by a number of factors for maximum results. As a mentor, we ask you to commit to the program for at least 18 months. We expect you to make contact with your youth for at least four hours a month. Finally, we ask that you respect your youth's privacy and maintain confidentiality.
