Shelter

When you’re in crisis, safety comes first.

YES’ Shelter provides a safe place for youth ages 16–21 in need of short-term, immediate housing. Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our shelter offers stability, hot meals, and individualized support as you begin to navigate through personal challenges. During your stay—up to 90 days—you will work with trained staff to set goals and begin planning your next steps toward stability and independence.

If you are a youth in need of a safe place to stay, please visit YES’ Drop-In Center—located at 2602 Harney Street—anytime Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or call 402.502.1636.

Independent Living

YES’ Independent Living Program (ILP) helps young people ages 16–21 build the skills needed to live on their own. As in a tenant in our ILP, you will live in apartment-style housing for up to 18 months while working closely with a designated case manager to develop goals surrounding education, employment, financial literacy, and daily living skills.

Through consistent support and guidance, you will gain the confidence and real-life experience necessary to transition into full independence.

Rapid Rehousing

YES’ Rapid Rehousing Program helps youth move quickly from homelessness into stable housing in the community. Through this program, YES will assist you with finding and securing housing while also providing you with up to 12 months of case management and supportive services to get you to stability and maintain self-sufficiency.

By combining housing support with our personalized guidance, YES helps you build the foundation for long-term independence.

Get Access to What You Need

If you or someone you know needs help, support is available.

YES is part of the regional Coordinated Entry system, which connects individuals experiencing homelessness with housing resources and supportive services. Access Points across Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa help people find the assistance that best fits their needs. One of those Access Points is the YES’ Drop-In Center where youth ages 16 to 25 can connect with immediate support, including meals, basic necessities, case management, and housing resources.

To find resources or immediate support through our Shelter, we recommend visiting our Drop-In Center—located at 2602 Harney Street—anytime Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or calling 402.502.1636.
