Gratitude—A Recipe for Safety
At Youth Emergency Services (YES), safety and stability often begin with the basics.
For young people experiencing homelessness or crisis, having access to essentials—clean clothing, hygiene items, and everyday necessities—can make an immediate difference. These simple resources help create a sense of security and allow youth to focus on the next steps toward stability.
Recently, that sense of support arrived in a big way thanks to the generosity of Harrison’s Playmakers. Their team delivered an incredible donation of clothing, supplies, and essential items for youth served by YES—so many, in fact, that one carload barely seemed big enough to carry them all. Every item donated will help ensure that when a young person walks through our doors, they can access the basics they need in a safe and welcoming environment.
Moments like this are powerful reminders that creating safety for youth is truly a community effort. When organizations like Harrison’s Playmakers step forward with generosity and care, they help strengthen the safety net that young people rely on during difficult times.
At YES, we are grateful for partners who understand that stability often begins with meeting immediate needs—and who help ensure youth know they are supported, valued, and not alone.
