Spreading the Love: Get Involved at YES

Love looks different for everyone—and at Youth Emergency Services, we see that every day through the many ways our community shows up for youth.

For some, love is time. Volunteers bring consistency, warmth, and care into our spaces—whether that means helping organize our clothing boutique, preparing meals, assembling hygiene kits, or simply being a steady, welcoming presence at our Drop-In Center. These moments matter more than most people realize. They help youth feel seen, valued, and safe.

For others, love is action. Donations of essential items—like clothing, coats, and everyday necessities—help ensure youth have what they need to move forward with dignity. Recently, employees from Carvana (pictured above) demonstrated this kind of care by donating clothing, winter coats, and toys to YES, directly supporting young people during a critical time of year. Their generosity is a powerful reminder that meeting basic needs is one of the most tangible ways to show support.

And sometimes, love is both. It’s choosing to give time, resources, or encouragement—whatever you have to offer—to create a stronger safety net for youth experiencing homelessness and crisis.

No matter how you choose to get involved, every act of generosity helps build a community where young people know they are not alone. That’s what spreading the love at YES looks like—today, and all year long.
