YES Receives Funding through YHDP

Organizations across the Omaha metro—including YES—are working together to strengthen housing opportunities for young people experiencing homelessness.

Recently, our region’s Continuum of Care, Threshold CoC, announced the organizations selected to receive funding through the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP)—a federal initiative designed to help communities develop innovative strategies to prevent and end youth homelessness.

Through this community-wide effort, Youth Emergency Services (YES) will receive funding to support transitional rapid rehousing for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. These resources will help us to expand housing opportunities while connecting young people with the guidance and support they need to build stability and independence.

Threshold CoC coordinates housing and service providers across Douglas and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa, helping ensure youth can access housing resources, case management, and supportive services when they need them most.

At YES, programs supported through YHDP will help young people move from crisis toward stability by providing safe housing alongside personalized support from staff. Together with our community partners, we remain committed to ensuring every young person has a safe place to turn and a pathway toward a brighter future!
